Check out these lunkers from down south! All caught on Larew baits.

(Jan. 17, 2010) Guide Tony Coatney caught his biggest bass ever, 13 lbs. 2 ounces, on a Larew Biffle Bug (Dark Watermelon Neon/Watermelon Neon) on Mexico’s Lake Cuchillo. He said “they are tearing up the Biffle Bug down here right now.” The giant came from a tree in about 15 feet of water. The lure was Texas rigged behind a ½ ounce sinker.

(Jan. 31, 2010) Lake Ray Roberts (Texas) guide Dannie Golden ventured farther south to Lake Falcon recently and found this big fish, 11 lbs. 0 ounces, ready and willing to bite a Larew 12” El Salto Grande worm in spite of the chilly air temps for the area. He reports catching several 5 and 6-pounders each day, with most of them coming from the front of spawning coves at depths ranging from 9-14 feet. He also had a 10.9 pounder on an El Salto worm the day before. Montezuma’s Revenge, Jalapeno Pepper and Navidad Lights have been his hot colors.

(Feb. 1, 2010) Kansas angler Rodney Trites took this 8 lbs. 6 ounces bass on a Biffle Bug on Lake Cuchillo in Mexico while fishing with guide Tony Coatney. The fish came from a tree along the river channel. Biffle Bug color: Dark Watermelon Neon/Watermelon Neon.
